The Art Of Landscape Painting 2026

Starts w/c 20th April

Learn light, colour, composition & perspective through guided studio sessions.

Work Directly From Life

The Art of Landscape Painting

Landscape painting asks us to balance observation with interpretation. It challenges us to simplify the complexity of nature, organise space, shape and light, and make decisions about what to leave in, what to leave out, and how to create a sense of atmosphere and depth. At the same time, it offers huge scope for expression through colour, mark-making, composition, and mood. Over the term, we will explore these unique challenges and opportunities through sketchbook studies, tonal work, colour mixing, and painting from both reference and observation.

Whether you are completely new to painting or have years of experience, this course is designed to help you build confidence, deepen your understanding, and develop a more personal response to the landscape.
