The Online Studio provides a clear structure. Lessons are arranged step by step around the key ideas and skills that matter most, with practical guidance on how to learn, practise and apply them effectively.
For students attending my in-person classes, it also provides a valuable resource between sessions. You can catch up on a missed lesson, watch a demonstration again, revisit reference material, or refresh your memory before continuing with your work.

Students attending one of my 12-week Suffolk art courses receive access to the accompanying Online Studio course material for four months. This allows you to revisit demonstrations, download references and catch up when you miss a session.
For online members
You can also join independently through Patreon and follow the lessons from home, wherever you live. You do not need to attend one of my in-person classes

FAQ
When do the Online Studio lessons begin?
The first full Online Studio course begins in September 2026. You can join Patreon now to receive updates and become part of the studio before the lessons are released.
Do I need to attend one of Ed’s in-person classes?
No. Course Companion members can follow the complete programme independently from home. The material also supports students attending my Suffolk classes.
I’m not very confident with technology. Do I need the Online Studio to enjoy the classes?
No. If you attend one of my face-to-face classes, you do not need to use the Online Studio to enjoy or benefit fully from the course.
If you do choose to use the Online Studio, Patreon is straightforward to access, and I will provide clear guidance to help you get started.
What happens if I miss an in-person lesson?
You can use Course Companion to catch up on the key ideas, watch demonstrations, download the references and continue with the suggested exercises at home.
Do I need previous drawing or painting experience?
No. The lessons are structured to help beginners build strong foundations, while also giving more experienced students a focused way to strengthen their skills
What materials will I need?
Each course includes clear information about the materials required. I aim to keep the equipment practical and accessible, and you will not need to buy everything at once. There are often variations or extrasrequired depending on the subject but you can see my materials suggestions here:
