What You’ll Learn

Over the 11 weeks you will learn how to use still life painting as a ‘creative laboratory’ – By working with smaller, everyday objects, learn to refine your drawing, strengthen your tonal understanding, develop confident mark-making, improve compositional choices, and explore colour design more deeply.

Course Dates

The course runs weekly for 11 sessions starting on the 5th of January 2026

Evening Class: Classes are 2hrs long and run in the evenings
Term length: 11 weeks
Note: No class during half-term 16th of February

Time & Venue

  • Martlesham Community Hall: Mondays, 18:30 – 20:30
    Venue: [Felixstowe Rd, Martlesham, Woodbridge IP12 4PB]

What to Bring

  • An A3 sketchbook, pencils, charcoal and putty rubber for first 3 sessions and homework
  • Full painting materials as suggested on website
  • Table Cloth
  • Apron or old clothes recommended

The course fee is paid in full when booking:
Martlesham Evenings: £185
If you’d prefer to pay in two instalments, just contact me to arrange it.

Missed Sessions

If you can’t make a session, you’re welcome to attend any of my other classes as a catch-up, subject to availability. Please let me know in advance so I can confirm space. As these classes are 3hrs I would request and extra £7.00

Cancellations & Refunds

  • If I need to cancel a session (e.g. due to illness), I’ll either:
    • Add an extra session at the end of term, or
    • Offer a credit toward a future class
  • If I’m unable to run the course at all, you’ll receive a full refund.
